My Christmassy Bedroom!

I cannot explain how excited I am that Ive transformed my bedroom into the christmassy goodness it now is. Ive had the shittest week ever, my granddad, my bestest friend and kindest man in the whole world passed away 4 days ago, and to take my mind off it for even a second I decided to put my little tree up and transform my room.

How cute does it look?!

I started by popping my christmas bedding on, it's got tiny little trees houses and people skiing on it, I bought this last year from Asda, Asda literally do the BEST bedding so make sure you check it out!

My mind is basically mush still after what happened to Granddad so I'm struggling to write and get my words out haha, so I will leave this here. Everything you see in the above pictures (apart from the yankee candle) is from Asda. Make sure you have a mooch around and check out their christmas bits, Ive bought the best things there!

Lotsa Love,

How I Edit My Instagram Pictures.

I am completely Instagram obsessed, it's probably my most loved form of social media.

i'm always taking photos, and I actually really enjoy the process of editing them, and uploading them. I feel like I'm creating a little memory book for myself, full of my favourite pictures :)

I've had a lot of questions recently regarding how I take my pictures, how I edit them, and what apps I use, so I thought it would be more helpful if I wrote an in-depth post, rather than trying to squeeze everything into a short comment on my photo haha!

So;

- The first thing I do is make sure the settings on my camera are right, I use my Iphone6s to take the picture you see on my Instagram, the camera on my phone is pretty good! So all I do is make sure I have the "square" option on, you know, like when you go to take a photo, instead of it being in the rectangular shape, it's already in the square shape for you. Amazing. Less work for me, thank you apple! haha. I like to make my Instagram very white, so I try to stick to white backgrounds, it's very difficult believe me!

- The next thing I do is head on over to VSCOcam, my favourite for adjusting the brightness, contrast, and to sharpen! I don't really touch anything else.

- I will then take the photo over to Picfx, this is where I add the little light leaks (if i use them) but I mainly use this app for the little dots of light/sparkle, I turn it down a fraction so it isn't so in your face, and voila! I think it really finishes off a picture.

- Then finally before I upload it so Instagram, I will head on over to Squaready, this is where I add the white border to my photos.

- Finally, it's ready to be uploaded to Instagram, and honestly, that's all I do! I don't do filters, or any fancy editing, I just up the brightness, sharpen, maybe add fade depending on the picture, and add the light leaks.

And here is the finished picture, fully edited. I love how bright my pictures are, especially through the winter months, it's kept everything super fresh :) Although it's been very difficult.. because in England the weather is just brill at the moment, with the sun disappearing super early, or just being non existent. haha.

I hope you enjoyed having a little nosey into how I edit my pictures!

My Autumn|Winter Bedroom.

I absolutely love autumn/winter, so much so that I moan through the whole of summer, and when autumn starts to appear I change my room to suit the season literally straight away haha.

My bedroom is quite bright and pretty plain, so making it feel warm is actually quite difficult, especially as it's white! So I thought I would share with you the things you would typically find in my room throughout the autumn/winter months, to make it feel a little more cosy! :)

I've done this a lot earlier this year, because the UK has been pretty chilly recently! and I'm a really cold person haha.. Or maybe I'm just a little excited that it's almost winter..

Now it's getting colder in the evenings I've been opting for baths rather than showers, I can't seem to have a bath without a lush bath bomb, they're my absolute faveeeeee. I keep all of them in my bedroom, because they smell absolutely amazing - last year I had all of the Christmas ones, and my room smelt incredible, and so Christmassy!
Pictured, is Lush's Experimenter.

Yep.. there it is, the Christmassy looking bedding.. with woodland creatures and reindeers, honestly the aim wasn't for this post to be so Christmassy haha! Throughout summer I either had a butterfly duvet cover, or a bright pastel patch work cover, they're very pretty but for the cooler months I prefer something a bit more muted, and I don't know why, but when I think of the woodland cover I've got on now, I automatically think of autumn/winter, I have no idea why haha! I've also recently changed my thin duvet over to my thicker one, which is so strange getting used to again?! But I always sleep with the window open, even in winter, so this helps massively!

I've recently discovered an amazing luxury bedding company called Parachute., and I'm so glad I've found them because their bedding is literally incredible. When we get right into winter I'll be ordering a duvet from these guys, they're incredibly thick but also light weight, there's nothing worse than a thick duvet that's stupidly heavy. I'm used to really cheap bedding, so this would be a treat for me, at the end of the day you get what you pay for, and I imagine their bedding quality is brilliant.

The fluffy slippers are back! Oh how I've missed these..

I always find myself cuddling up to this cushion at night, it keeps me so warm haha, is that weird to say?! Probably..

There's nothing quite like fairy lights in autumn/winter. I have them on literally all the time, they help my room feel so much warmer. And they were only £4 from Primark, bargain!

Candles are an essential for making a bright room feel cosy. I always have at least one burning, this one in particular was Yankee Candles Cranberry Pear - it smells incredible! I've popped it in my fireplace, as it doesn't actually work, but putting a candle in there gives the illusion that it does, or so I think. Now whilst I was browsing the Parachute website, I stumbled across their candles, and found their Fireside Scented Candle - imagine how amazing this would smell?! I need it. Now. You can find it here.

And last but not least, I don't think there will ever be a time in the colder months where you won't find a hot chocolate in my room.. and a cake to go with!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I change my room around to suit the colder months, it feels so much more cosy now, I'm glad to see the back of summer!

Up Cycling!

Oh hiiiii!

Recently I'd came across the idea of cycling, up cycling is basically taking something old and turning it into something new, and hopefully better! Myself and my mum plan to move house soon and I'm changing my room completely, ive decided to go for a white theme, and to add colour I can add things such as candles, photos, a bright duvet etc.

So instead of buying new furniture, I thought I'd give up cycling a go! I took my old brown dressing table, which don't get me wrong for the colour theme I have already, it went with the room, but I wanted it pure white. With my dad being a builder he already had all the things I needed to do the job properly, I needed:

- Sand Paper
- Paint Sheets (to protect the floor)
- A Primer
- White Paint (gloss in my case)
- Screwdriver (to remove handles)

Im so pleased with how it turnt out, it looks modern but with a slight vintage look, I love it! And for my first up cycling project, I think I did quite good!
