kylie lip kit VS sleek matte me

For the longest time now, I've been searching high and low for a cheaper alternative to the Kylie Lip Kit. Don't get me wrong I do love the Kylie one, but it's so bloody expensive to get it over here. Painfully expensive, especially if you paid the customs charge like I did.

I'm pretty sure as soon as Kylie's matte liquid lipsticks came out, every other company came out with some too because they're so popular, meaning it took me no time at all to find a cheaper option.

I'd heard a lot about Sleeks liquid lipsticks so this is the first one I've tried from any drug store brand, it was actually the first one I spotted in Boots as I love the packaging, I think the matte black looks quite expensive.

So as a comparison, on the left is Kylie's Candy K, and the right is Sleeks Birthday Suit. They are pretty much identical to look at in the tube, aren't they? I genuinely can't see much of a difference. However there is a big difference in price. You can get the Kylie Lip Kit for $29.00, that not including shipping and customs, and you can get the Sleek lipstick for £4.99. I know, £4.99?! I couldn't quite believe it either, I expected it to be much more expensive. Now obviously you don't get a lip liner with the Sleek lipstick, but as we all know, lip liners from boots tend to be pretty cheap!

As for applicators, I much preferred Kylies. It's smaller, meaning you can be more precise with application. Where as Sleeks is a lot bigger, thinner, and it's a bit trickier to apply, well I say tricky, I guess you just have to be a bit more careful. A lot more product seems to come out on Sleeks applicator, but Id imagine this would be a personal preference if you liked this or not, I myself don't really mind, it just saves me having to go back for more, definitely lazy haha.

The smell was also something I noticed, I could literally smell my Kylie Lip Kit all bloody day it's incredible, it smells like strawberry milkshake to me. Whereas Sleeks doesn't really have a smell, it's hard to explain, just a makeup smell if that makes any sense haha?!

As for the colour they are pretty much identical. I only noticed they were slightly different when I looked hard, I asked my mum what her opinion was and she had no idea they were different lipsticks, which says it all really!

Kylies is a lot thicker, meaning it's a little more opaque, but this is literally just a fraction more, nothing noticeable unless you're looking super hard. I don't know if I prefer the thickness of Kylies lipstick though, sometimes this can dry out my lips because of the thick layer, so it was quite nice wearing Sleeks which was a fraction thinner, it didn't feel as drying, Im guessing this was because of the thickness. Id say Sleeks was a tiny bit lighter in colour than Kylies, but again, just a fraction. They are pretty much identical.

Overall, I genuinely think I prefer my new Sleek liquid lipstick. The price has swayed me, don't get me wrong I absolutely love my Kylie Lip Kit, but if I can buy a cheaper option, that's pretty much identical in colour, that lasts just as long, I'm gunna go for that option.

I think I found a pretty good dupe! Do you know of any other brands that have similar shades?

Lotsa Love,

A Big Drugstore, Yankee Candle & Primark Haul.

Myself and my boyfriend spent the weekend just gone in Cardiff, one of the best places to go for shopping - or so I think anyway, it's massive! I picked up a fair few things, so I thought I would share with you what I bought! I haven't included everything, because if I did, you would get incredibly bored.. I bought far too much!

Primark -  Bambi PJ Bottoms. These are so so soft, and really comfortable. I love the little quote on the leg - these are more of a thin pair of jogging bottoms than PJ's, there's also a matching top but I went with just the bottoms! I think these were around £7.

Primark - Fluffy Bed Socks. I wasn't going to buy these! Matt made me haha, and I'm so glad he did. I'm a sucker for anything Disney! These were £2.50

Primark - Hair Clips and Earrings. I don't think I ever go into Primark and not buy their hair clips, they're the best I've found for my stupidly thick long hair! I also picked up these earrings, the boyfriend chose these, they're rather pretty!:)
Hair Clips - £1.00, Earrings - £1.50

Primark - Scarf. Ive wanted a new scarf for aaaaages, I saw this one without even looking at the price at bought it straight away haha, It was only £4.00 though which is an absolute bargain!

Boots - Little Mix's Gold Magic Perfume. My new favourite perfume, it smells amazing! I wont try and explain what it smells like because I'm rubbish haha, but seriously it's incredibleeee! £19.95
Hollister - sneakily adding this one in haha, I've always used Hollister body sprays, this one is in the scent Lunada Bay. £11

Yankee Candle - Berry Trifle & Snowflake Cookie
Yankee Candles are my favourite, I've bought snowflake cookie 3 times now, however berry trifle is new for this year! I know it's not Christmas yet, but I'm so excited haha!

Boots - Sleek MakeUP Crème To Powder Blush in Gerbera -£5.99
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blackberry - £2.50
Both of these I am yet to try, expect a post of me reviewing them when I have tried them!
Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation - £7.99
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation - £7.99 **these are 2 for 10 at the moment!!**

So there we have it, I also bought a few pairs of jeans which I haven't included, they're your basic black and blue and not too exciting haha.
Hope you enjoyed having a little nosey into what I bought, expect a few reviews coming up soon, I'm pretty excited to try everything out!

Sleek MakeUP Blush - Flushed | Review

Another review today guys! This time I'll be talking about my new Sleek blush, in the shade flushed. I purchased this randomly at the beginning of the month, I quite liked the colour so I thought why not!

I bought this from my local boots, it was pretty much a "oooh, that looks pretty, I'll buy that" I didn't particularly need it, I have so many blushes already, but one more to the collection wont hurt ay ;)
This is actually the first thing I've bought from Sleek, and I can say I'm pretty impressed.

Firstly, can we just talk about the packaging?! Personally, I think it looks so professional - I quite like the fact its matte too, with the writing shiny, it makes it look so much more expensive than it actually is. I also LOVE the fact it has a quite a big mirror, always handy! It's also very travel friendly, so much so that I actually struggle to get into the product sometimes, this might be me being very weak.. who knows! But even so, it closes with a click which feels very sturdy and secure!

WHAT IT CLAIMS
Sleek Blushes are highly pigmented, and long lasting, they apparently give you an all over, even, dewy radiant glow. They are silky fine and long lasting - which will create a subtle and radiant glow, which should suit all skin tones.

Ok, so, I don't think I can actually express how much love I have for this product. It's literally the best blush I own -  It honestly looks as if I've been outside on a really cold day, my cheeks look naturally rosy, and it's very subtle. Its also very buildable, I'm not the type of person to apply loads of blusher, so the fact it's not really in your face on first application is brilliant for me. It also lasts ages, which I'm super impressed with! For such a small price, it's honestly brilliant.

Personally, I would describe this shade as being a dark berry pink, and I think it would look really nice on all skin tones.

Although it doesn't look it in the pictures, I've used this so so SO many times, and it's not even made a dent yet! So I have a feeling it's going to last me a reaaaaally long time, which is great.

However I will say, even though it is buildable, go careful not to over do it, the first time I used this I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing and I was quite heavy handed, which resulted in my cheeks looking horrendous. haha. So go careful with that one.. it certainly does build up eventually!
I picked up this particular blush for £4.49 in Boots, you can find it here.
I 100% recommend you try it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Have you ever tried any sleek products before? I'm pretty new to Sleek, would you personally recommend any of their products?
